BEST OF BALTIMORE
“The Load of Fun Theatre--LOF/t, for short--is exactly what Baltimore needed. This multi-use but technically equipped small black-box theater can accommodate just about any type of performance--from small local or traveling theater companies to mixed-media performances, from poetry readings to very rare intimate music shows, from installation art to performance art. “

What is LOF ... What is the LOF/t?
LOF (Load of Fun) was established in November 2005 in the former Lombard Office Furniture building in Baltimore’s Station North Arts and Entertainment District. The 24,000 sq. ft. facility has expanded progressively over its 6 year lifespan. What began as simple raw studio spaces has burgeoned into one of the city’s foremost arts venues hosting both visual and performing arts and artists.
The LOF/t (The Load of Fun Theater) began informally on the 3rd floor of Load of Fun with Single Carrot Theater, impromptu performances by Trixie Little, Fluid Movement and various other events organized by residents. Construction of the existing theater began in July 2008 with its first performances amid chaos beginning in January of 2009.
The LOF/a mission:
LOF/a aims to act as a positive factor in the social and cultural transformation of the Station North Arts and Entertainment District which encompasses the Charles North and Greenmount West neighborhoods, and to contribute positively to the expansion of the general cultural profile of Baltimore.
